Capitol Corridor
Like all regional trains in California, the Capitol Corridor is operated by a joint powers authority. The Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) is governed by a board that includes two elected representatives from each of the eight counties the train travels through.
CCJPA and SJJPA currently provide passenger rail services utilizing a number of rail vehicles and locomotives owned by the California State Department of Transport (CALTRANS) and others leased from AMTRAK. AMTRAK provides the maintenance of these rail cars and the operation of the rail services with most maintenance undertaken at the Oakland Maintenance Facility (OMF).

Wireframes & User-flows
Our friends over at Xentrans came to us looking for an excellent User Experience, and we delivered. The yard planning tool is a desktop-sized, web-based application which replaced CCJPA’s current (complicated) spreadsheet which now offers additional automation, error checking, auditing and workflow management. Designing Wireframes and Exploring User-flows, we worked closely with Xentrans to understand and develop the flow of the application to be easy to use (and difficult to get wrong!)
